The MAGUS Bio 230B biological microscope is a professional instrument for observing biological samples in transmitted light. The main microscopy technique used is bright-field (immediately available). Dark-field, phase-contrast or polarized-light observation techniques can also be used, but require accessories to be added to the microscope. This microscope is perfect for laboratory observations and research in the medical, pharmaceutical, forensic, agricultural and various other fields.
Digital camera
Full-color digital camera with a 2.1 MP SONY Exmor CMOS sensor. The sensor is manufactured using back-illumination technology to reduce light diffusion and increase sensor sensitivity (8935 mV at 1/30 s). The camera produces clear, bright images even in low-light conditions. Designed for bright- and dark-field observations with 40x, 60x and 100x magnification objectives.
The camera can be mounted on a microscope in two different ways: on the trinocular tube using a C-mount adapter, or in place of the eyepiece on the tube using an adapter and adapter rings. We recommend using an adapter with magnification from 0,6x to 0,9x with the camera, which will provide the widest possible field of view without distortion. Once installed, the camera connects to a computer via a USB 3.0 port with a data transfer rate of 5 Gbps.
Optics
Plan achromatic objectives provide clear images rich in contrast and detail, with minimal aberrations. Using the objectives and eyepieces included in the package, magnification ranges from 40x to 1000x, but the upper limit can be increased by using additional eyepieces. The optics are infinity-corrected, which means that various other accessories can be inserted along the optical path.
The trinocular head is equipped with a separate vertical tube for mounting a digital camera (not included). This optical tube is positioned vertically. The trinocular head is equipped with rotatable optical tubes at 360°, and the diopter setting can be adjusted using a ring on the left eyepiece tube. The trinocular head design makes it easy to adjust the interpupillary distance to suit the observer's height.
The nosepiece, with its objectives, faces inward and can hold 5 objectives at a time: 4 are included in the package, and the fifth slot remains empty. An additional objective can provide another magnification factor within the available magnification range.
Illumination
The 30 W halogen lamp provides bright illumination and allows good visibility of sample structures with any observation technique and any objective. Its light has a warm color temperature, which is more comfortable for the eyes during long working hours. A brightness control is provided. The light is powered by the AC mains.
Köhler illumination can be set up thanks to the centering, height-adjustable Abbe condenser, the aperture diaphragm and the field diaphragm. The condenser has a slot for inserting a dark-field slider or a phase-contrast slider. Using a slider makes it possible to switch quickly between observation techniques, thereby improving the microscope's performance.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The stage has no positioning rack, which makes it more ergonomic. The mechanical stage insert moves the sample smoothly and can be removed for manual scanning.
The focusing knobs are positioned on both sides of the microscope, near the base of the stand. Their position allows image sharpness to be adjusted with the hands resting on the table rather than held in midair, providing greater comfort during prolonged observations. The knobs are coaxial (centered on the same axis). The coarse focusing mechanism has a locking knob, and the tension of the coarse-focus screw can be adjusted. Overall, the focusing mechanism operates smoothly, without requiring excessive force on the knobs to achieve the desired sharpness.
Accessories
The range of optional accessories includes eyepieces, objectives, polarization instruments, dark-field condensers, phase-contrast devices, calibration slides and digital cameras. Specifically designed for the MAGUS Bio 250T, these accessories fit the microscope perfectly and maximize its capabilities.
