Metallurgical digital microscope MAGUS Metal D630 BD for brightfield, darkfield and polarization microscopy. Powerful halogen illumination produces a high-quality image with any objective lens and microscopy method. The microscope is designed for quality control and the study of the microstructure of semiconductor materials, metals and opaque objects. It is used to conduct research at production facilities, research center laboratories and university departments.

Digital camera

The MAGUS CLM30 digital camera is designed for brightfield, darkfield and fluorescence microscopy. The camera is equipped with a 8.3 MP sensor and produces realistic images at a resolution of 3840x2160 px. It is recommended for use with 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives. When using low-magnification objectives, the camera enables the user to see finer details.
Videos are recorded at 45 fps or 70 fps, depending on the resolution: they play smoothly, with gentle transitions between frames. Specimen movement is shown in real time, without delays. The camera makes it easier to observe moving objects and is suitable for academic demonstrations.
The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 interface. The data transfer rate is 10 times faster than that of USB 2.0 cameras. This high-speed camera is recommended for professional laboratories, research or university training.

Optics

The trinocular head has a trinocular tube onto which the digital camera (not included) is mounted. A camera/eyepiece light-path selection knob directs the light beam to the eyepiece or the trinocular tube. The trinocular head is inclined at 30° for comfortable observation. The diopter adjustment ring is located on the left optical tube.

Once the objectives included in the kit are mounted on the revolving nosepiece, a slot for an additional objective is available. All standard objectives are plan achromatic, with a long working distance, and suitable for brightfield and darkfield microscopy.

Illumination

For darkfield observations, the microscope has a higher-power halogen lamp (50 W). The reflected-light illumination system also includes a set of filters, field and aperture diaphragms, a darkfield device, a built-in analyzer and a removable polarizer. The apertures and light source can be centered. Köhler illumination can be configured.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The microscope features a support and focusing mechanism with an interesting design, and the specimen being analyzed can be of any size and height. It is also characterized by its compact dimensions, which allow the microscope to be placed on surfaces with a maximum height of 40 cm. The coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial and located on both sides of the microscope body. Coarse focus tension can also be adjusted.

Accessories

Additional accessories for the MAGUS Metal 630 BD microscope can be ordered separately. These include compatible eyepieces, long-working-distance objectives for brightfield and darkfield techniques, calibration slides and digital cameras.

Key features of the microscope:

  • Suitable for studying opaque specimens of any height and size
  • Trinocular head with a trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera and a 100:0 and 0:100 beam splitter
  • Reflected-light observation using brightfield, darkfield and polarization microscopy techniques
  • The power of the halogen light source has been increased to 50 W (suitable for darkfield)
  • Aperture and field diaphragms for Köhler illumination and a set of color filters; centering for both diaphragms and the light source.
  • Compactly designed support for mounting the microscope in limited spaces
  • A wide range of optional accessories

Key features of the camera:

  • For darkfield and fluorescence microscopy with 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives
  • 8.3 MP resolution: when observing with low-magnification objectives, the camera enables the user to see finer details
  • 45 fps and 70 fps, at resolutions of 3840x2160 pixels and 1920x1080 pixels, respectively, for observing specimens with moving elements, recording videos and moving the specimen without jerks or delays
  • The Peltier cell lowers the sensor temperature during prolonged operation and eliminates thermal noise, allowing a long shutter speed to be used when taking photographs.
  • The back-illuminated SONY Exmor color CMOS sensor produces images with low noise and high light sensitivity, even in low-light conditions. It can produce sharper, brighter images with saturated colors.
  • USB 3.0 interface for fast and smooth data transfer
  • Software for recording and editing photos and videos, external display functions, and linear and angular measurements
