The MAGUS Bio 230TL biological microscope is an essential instrument for a healthcare laboratory, diagnostic center, or research institute. This microscope is equipped with a trinocular head and a light source for transmitted-light observations (LED), and is suitable for analyzing semi-transparent specimens and naturally transparent samples. In its basic configuration, observations are performed using the bright-field technique. With additional accessories, it is possible to conduct research using other microscopy techniques, such as dark-field, polarized-light, and phase-contrast observations.

Digital camera

Digital camera with a 2 MP sensor for studying microscopic objects using dark-field or bright-field microscopy. The camera is equipped with a back-illuminated color SONY Exmor CMOS sensor. This sensor increases light sensitivity (2350 mV at 1/30 s) and improves image quality in low-light conditions. Using 40x, 60x, and 100x magnification objectives enables excellent performance.

The MAGUS CDF10 camera lets you view an object's image on a computer monitor at Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 px, take photographs, and record videos in various formats. Data is transferred between the camera and computer via a USB 3.0 interface, with a data transfer rate of 5 Gbps. At maximum resolution, video is displayed at 125 fps with smooth transitions between frames. The camera is ideal for studying moving objects and can also be used for lessons and presentations.

Optics

The optical tubes can rotate by 360°, making it possible to adjust the eyepiece position to suit the observer's height. Diopter adjustment is available on the left eyepiece tube. A vertical tube is provided for mounting a digital camera (not included).

This microscope uses infinity-corrected achromatic objectives, and the nosepiece can accommodate up to 5 objectives simultaneously. In the basic configuration, one slot is left free for adding a fifth objective. The nosepiece with its objectives faces inward, allowing the user to see which objective is in the optical path. The microscope offers magnification ranging from 40x to 1000x, but the upper limit can be increased to 1500x, 1600x, or 2000x by using additional eyepieces.

Illumination

Thanks to the LED lamp, the color temperature does not change as the illumination intensity varies. The 3 W LED light has a service life of 50000 hours and is powered by AC mains electricity.

The Abbe condenser has a slot for a dark-field slider or phase-contrast slider. The sliders make switching between microscopy techniques much faster. The microscope is also equipped with a field diaphragm for setting Köhler illumination. The condenser is height-adjustable and can be centered.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The specimen moves smoothly and precisely. If necessary, the mechanical insert can be removed from the stage (for example, to scan the specimen manually). It is also easier to work with a stage that has no positioning rack.

The coaxial focus knobs are located on both sides of the microscope base, allowing the user to position their hands freely on the table. Coarse and fine focus knobs (macro- and micrometric) are provided. Their mechanisms move smoothly and require no effort to operate. A tension adjustment knob for the coarse focus knob and a coarse focus lock knob are provided.

Additional accessories expand the capabilities of the MAGUS Bio 230TL for specific applications. Accessories include eyepieces, objectives, dark-field and phase-contrast condensers, polarization equipment, digital cameras, calibration slides, etc.
