Research microscope.
Designed for the study of liquid precipitates, cell colonies, live cells, tissue cultures, and other stained and unstained samples in laboratory containers.
The inverted design allows the use of Petri dishes, multiwell plates, vials, roller bottles, and flasks up to 75 mm tall and with a thick bottom of 1.2 mm. The microscope uses special objectives for observation with these containers.
By removing the condenser, cell colonies can be observed in Petri dishes or cylindrical flasks up to 187 mm tall.
Observations are performed using transmitted light with brightfield, phase contrast, and relief contrast techniques. Optional components enable the use of Hoffman modulation contrast techniques. The microscope is used for research in medicine, pharmacology, biology, and virology. The highest microscope configuration is suitable for IVF.

Microscope head

Binocular head with infinity-corrected optics. The digital camera is installed in the side port on the microscope head. Beam splitting of 100/0 or 0/100. A slot with a socket is provided for installing the relief contrast slider.

Nosepiece

Coded nosepiece for 5 objectives. Alternatively, an additional objective can be installed in the free slot to obtain extra magnification.

Objectives

Infinity-corrected plan achromatic objectives with a long working distance for plates with a bottom thickness of less than 1.2 mm. The parfocal distance is 60 mm. The 4x objectives are used for brightfield. The 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives are phase objectives, distinguished from the 4x objectives by the presence of a phase ring in the exit pupil plane. These objectives are designed for phase contrast observations, but are also suitable for brightfield and relief contrast techniques.

Maintaining comfortable brightness levels when changing magnification

Objectives with different magnifications transmit light at different intensity levels; each time you change objectives, the light brightness must be adjusted. Switching from a higher-magnification objective to a lower-magnification one causes eye strain because the image brightness in the eyepieces increases sharply. MAGUS Bio V360, equipped with intelligent brightness control, solves this problem. The microscope stores the brightness setting for each objective selected by the user and sets it automatically when the nosepiece is moved. Intelligent control reduces the time needed to adjust brightness. MAGUS Bio V360 increases user comfort and saves time even when the work requires frequent changes in magnification.

Focusing mechanism

The coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial and positioned low. The researcher can rest their hands on the table and assume a comfortable position in front of the microscope.
The ring on the right side adjusts the tension of the coarse focus adjustment knob. The user adjusts the tension as needed for observations.

Stage

The mechanical stage is fixed. A special mechanism is installed on the stage to move laboratory containers in two perpendicular directions. The smooth, micrometric movement of the object enables precise examination: no part of the sample will be overlooked.
The long stage control handle ensures comfortable observations: the hand can rest effortlessly on the table.
The microscope kit includes a universal holder for laboratory containers.

Condenser

The condenser has an NA of 0.3 and a working distance of 75 mm. A phase contrast slider or a relief contrast slider is installed in the condenser slot.
A phase contrast slider is a plate with three holes. One hole has a phase insert for 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives, while the other two are used for brightfield observations. The slider's annular diaphragm is aligned with the objective's phase ring using a centering telescope.
A relief contrast slider with a sector diaphragm is also a plate with three holes. Relief contrast microscopy is enabled by inserting the sector diaphragm into the optical path and placing the slider in the slot on the microscope head at the position corresponding to the objective in use. The green filter (ND6), when inserted into the slot with the sector diaphragm, removes color halos at the edges of the observed structures. The slider's open holes are designed for brightfield observations: one for a 4x objective and the other for 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives.

Illumination

The 3 W LED provides intense illumination of the sample, sufficient for all available techniques and objectives of the microscope. The color temperature does not change when the brightness is adjusted. The LED service life is 50000 hours.

LCD status display

The LCD at the base of the microscope shows the objective magnification, light source brightness, and operating mode (“standby”, “eco”).
Using the display and its control knob, the user adjusts brightness, locks the brightness adjustment, and sets standby mode and the automatic shutdown timer.

Ergonomic design

Physical discomfort causes fatigue and reduces productivity. The ergonomic design of the microscope plays an important role in everyday scientific research.
MAGUS Bio V360 allows users to work comfortably. The microscope head is positioned at an ergonomic angle so that the back and neck do not become tired.
Thanks to the low, compact stage, users can conveniently manipulate the sample and work with laboratory containers.
The long handle of the movement mechanism means that users do not need to lift their hand from the table to control the microscope or change their body position.
The focus knobs are positioned at the base of the microscope. Users do not need to strain their hands. Thanks to the smooth movement of the mechanism, users can focus on the object with ease.

Accessories

A range of accessories designed for this microscope is available. Additional objectives without phase rings ensure optimum image quality when working in brightfield. Eyepieces extend the microscope's magnification range. Additional eyepieces help users make full use of the most frequently used objective. The phase contrast device with semi-apochromatic plan objectives is suitable for basic and applied research. Semi-apochromatic plan objectives provide a high degree of aberration correction, producing sharp, bright, high-contrast images. Hoffman modulation contrast makes it possible to view fine details in live samples with high contrast and without halos, enabling the study of dynamic processes in real time. A digital camera displays the microscope image on a monitor and stores files, while the software captures sample measurements in real time. Stage and plate-holder inserts are used for convenient installation of culture flasks of various types and sizes on the microscope.
