Microscope head

Trinocular head with infinity-corrected optics. The user can select the most comfortable angle for the microscope head, from 0° to 35°. A digital camera can be installed in the trinocular tube. The beam splitter is 0/100, 100/0, or 80/20. The basic kit includes 10x eyepieces with 25 mm diopter adjustment and long eye relief, allowing observations while wearing glasses.

Nosepiece and objectives

An inward-facing motorized nosepiece for 6 objectives allows the user to see which objective is in the optical path while keeping the space above the stage clear. Alternatively, an additional objective can be installed in the empty slot for extra magnification. The objectives are plan achromatic, with a parfocal height of 60 mm. Above the nosepiece is a slot with a socket for installing an analyzer or differential interference contrast slider.

Remote control of the nosepiece

The front panel of the microscope has objective selection buttons. When a button is pressed, the nosepiece automatically moves the selected objective into the observation position. Another button allows switching between the two most frequently used objectives. Buttons for rotating the nosepiece are located next to the focusing knobs on both sides of the body. The position of the condenser front lens and the illumination brightness are adjusted automatically according to the selected objective. These features improve comfort, speed, and efficiency.

Maintaining comfortable brightness levels when changing magnification

Objectives with different magnifications transmit light at different intensity levels; each time you change the objective, the light brightness must be adjusted. Switching from a higher-magnification objective to a lower-magnification one causes eye strain, because the image brightness in the eyepieces increases sharply. MAGUS Bio 290T, equipped with intelligent brightness control, solves this problem. The microscope remembers the brightness selected by the user for each objective and automatically sets it when the nosepiece is rotated. Intelligent control reduces the time needed to adjust the brightness. MAGUS Bio 290T increases user comfort and saves time, even when observations require frequent changes in magnification.

Focusing mechanism

The coarse and fine focusing knobs are coaxial and positioned low down. The researcher can rest their hands on the table and sit comfortably in front of the microscope. The coarse focus lock knob helps adjust the microscope quickly after changing the specimen under study. The knob is located on the left side of the microscope, on the same axis as the focusing mechanism. The ring on the right side adjusts the tension of the coarse-focus screw. The user can set the appropriate tension for their observations.

Stage

The stage is made of sapphire glass. The hardness and durability of sapphire glass, as well as its resistance to scratches and chemicals, are second only to those of diamond glass. Its performance significantly exceeds that of the popular chemically tempered Gorilla Glass. According to the Mohs scale (a ten-point scale of the relative hardness of mineral surfaces), Gorilla Glass scores 6.8, sapphire scores 9, and diamond scores 10. The specimen holder is secured with two screws and can be easily removed to allow manual scanning. The height-adjustable stage control knob ensures user comfort, allowing the user to rest their hand on the table for fatigue-free operation. The control knob also has tension adjustment, allowing the user to select the optimal rotation tension for smooth and precise movement of the specimen.

Condenser

Optimal condenser settings for each objective: the swing-out auxiliary lenses automatically move out of the light beam path when low-magnification objectives are used and move back into place when objectives with magnifications greater than 10x are used. Less manual operation for convenient, fast operation. The user can also individually adjust the position of the swing-out auxiliary condenser lenses for specific studies. The condenser is height-adjustable and can be centered. Mount type: dovetail. The condenser ring adjusts the iris aperture diaphragm. The condenser body displays the aperture values in white and the objective magnification value in color, while the ring has an indicator mark. To obtain contrast for each objective, it is recommended that you rotate the ring so that the indicator matches the aperture or magnification value of the objective in use.

Illumination

The transmitted-light illuminator contains a 3 W LED. The color temperature does not change when the brightness is adjusted. The LED service life is 50000 hours.

Transmitted-light Köhler illumination

The light source is at the back of the microscope, and the light is directed toward the collector by a mirror. Image contrast is adjusted by the condenser aperture diaphragm, while the illuminated field area is adjusted by the collector field diaphragm. The field aperture control is located on the lower right side of the body, next to the focusing adjustment area, making it easier to set up Köhler illumination. Köhler illumination improves the image quality of the observed specimen: each objective achieves maximum resolution, and the field of view is evenly illuminated without darkening at the edges. The specimen is sharp and free of image artifacts.

Ergonomic design

Physical discomfort causes fatigue and reduces productivity. The ergonomic design of the microscope plays an important role in everyday scientific research. MAGUS Bio 290T provides user comfort during work. The motorized components speed up and simplify repetitive operations, especially when objectives are changed frequently. The user can choose a comfortable angle for the microscope head, avoiding strain on the back and neck. The focusing knobs are located at the base of the microscope. The user does not need to strain their hands. Thanks to the smooth movement of the mechanism, the user can focus on the specimen easily. The microscope requires minimal hand movement during use, thanks to the long stage handle and the focusing handle being located in the same working area.

Accessories

A range of accessories is designed for this microscope. Optional objectives provide additional magnifications. Eyepieces extend the microscope's magnification range. Additional eyepieces help maximize the potential of the most frequently used objective. Optional phase-contrast, epi-fluorescence, darkfield, polarization, and DIC attachments expand the range of microscopy techniques, allowing the study of samples invisible in brightfield. A digital camera transmits the microscope image to a monitor, stores files, and uses software to perform real-time sample measurements. A calibration slide is used to measure objects and can be combined with a scale eyepiece or camera software.
