The Ethicon Vicryl Rapide V226H Absorbable Suture is a sterile surgical solution, designed to offer optimal performance in medical applications. Made of polyglactin 910, this braided and coated synthetic suture is composed of a copolymer of glycolic acid (90%) and lactic acid (10%). Its characteristics are designed to emulate the performance of collagen sutures.

Vicryl Rapide sutures are ideal for soft tissue approximation, where temporary wound support is needed, generally between 7 and 10 days, with rapid absorption. They are not recommended for ligament surgery, ophthalmic, cardiovascular or neurological surgery. Absorption occurs via hydrolysis, starting with loss of tensile strength followed by loss of mass, completing in 42 days.
