The Ethicon Vicryl Rapide V2190H Absorbable Suture is a sterile surgical solution designed for soft tissue approximation, ideal when temporary wound support is required. Made from polyglactin 910, a combination of glycolic acid (90%) and lactic acid (10%), this braided and coated synthetic suture offers similar performance to collagen sutures, with rapid absorption.

Vicryl Rapide sutures are particularly suitable for situations where fast absorption is preferable, completing in 42 days. They are not indicated for ligament surgery, ophthalmic, cardiovascular or neurological surgery. Absorption occurs via hydrolysis, starting with the loss of tensile strength and followed by loss of mass.
