The Ethicon Vicryl Rapid V2150G suture is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture designed to provide temporary soft tissue support. Made from polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolic acid (90%) and lactic acid (10%), this braided and coated synthetic suture is designed to emulate the performance of collagen sutures.

Suitable for approximation of soft tissues where short-term support (7-10 days) is required, Vicryl Rapid is ideal for applications requiring rapid absorption. It is not suitable for ligament operations, nor for ophthalmic, cardiovascular or neurological surgery. Absorption occurs by hydrolysis, with a progressive loss of tensile strength and mass, completing in 42 days.
