The educational MAGUS Bio 240B microscope is designed for professional training. It enables observations using transmitted light with the bright-field method, and the study of translucent and transparent biological specimens. The microscope is equipped with a coded revolving nosepiece that holds four objectives and features intelligent illumination. Brightness is adjustable for each objective. The device is compact and practical to move and store.

The head is designed to accommodate two eyepieces and uses an infinity optical system. The head tubes can rotate fully on their axes, and the interpupillary distance can be adjusted to suit the user's height. The microscope features 2 10x eyepieces/20 mm standard. The set also includes rubber eyecups for eyeglass wearers: the eyecups act as a layer between eyeglass lenses and the eyepieces, as well as protecting the lenses from abrasions, scratches and damage. Each tube has a diopter adjustment ring, allowing focus to be adjusted to suit the user's vision. This feature is particularly useful for researchers with different vision in each eye, since each eyepiece can be adjusted independently. If a digital camera needs to be connected to the microscope, it can be placed on either tube after removing an eyepiece.

The revolving nosepiece has mounts for four objectives. The nosepiece is inward-facing. The researcher has the objective in use in front of them, while the other objectives are some distance away. The advantage of this arrangement is the ample working area available to the user. When changing objectives, the light intensity normally fluctuates, causing eye strain and fatigue. To avoid this unpleasant effect, the MAGUS Bio 240B microscope features an intelligent light control system: the user adjusts the brightness for each objective once, and when objectives are changed, the light changes automatically. This means the user does not have to waste time adjusting the brightness every time an objective is changed.

The microscope is equipped with a focusing system with coaxially positioned fine- and coarse-focus knobs. They are positioned low on the body and on either side of the stand, allowing the user to maintain a comfortable position while focusing. On the left, the coarse-focus knob allows the image to be adjusted quickly after changing objectives. On the right, a ring allows the resistance of the coarse-focus mechanism to be adjusted to suit the user's needs.

The stage is equipped with a belt-driven mechanism that allows the specimen to move smoothly beneath the objectives.

The Abbe condenser is fixed beneath the stage, centered, and factory-set in the correct vertical position. The user does not have to spend time and effort installing and adjusting the condenser. The condenser has a numerical aperture of 1.25. Its handle is used to adjust the iris diaphragm. The objective magnifications are marked in color on the condenser. To produce an image with optimal contrast, the handle position must be set according to the objective in use.

The microscope operates with transmitted light. A 3 W LED is installed as the illuminator. The color temperature can be adjusted from 3000 K to 7000 K, thus adjusting the illumination to the characteristics of the specimen being studied. The illuminator has a service life of 50000 hours.

Another positive feature of this model is its LCD screen, which displays operating parameters: the magnification of the active objective, the illumination temperature and the operating mode.

The microscope can be moved using the side handles. The device is designed so that the cable and power supply can be concealed at the back of the body. This gives the device an attractive appearance and makes it practical to transport and store.
