The MAGUS Metal D630 LCD reflected-light metallurgical microscope is used to examine the microstructure of opaque objects of any height and size. The objects examined include metals, alloys, semiconductors and paint coatings. The available microscopy techniques are brightfield and polarized light. One of the microscope’s advantages is its compact size, making it ideal for laboratories with limited work and storage space. The MAGUS Metal 630 microscope is an ideal choice for companies in various industries, research centers and university departments.
Digital camera
The MAGUS CHD20 digital camera features a 2 MP sensor and produces realistic Full HD images at a resolution of 1920x1080 px. The camera has high light sensitivity, suitable for observations with fluorescent light. Using primary-color R, G, B mosaic filters produces sharp images with low dark current.
The camera uses an HDMI interface to connect directly to a TV monitor or projector. This allows the camera to operate independently, without a PC. The HDMI interface enables fast and stable transfer from the camera to the external display. An additional USB 2.0 interface is available for connecting the camera to a PC.
Video is recorded at 60 fps or 50 fps, depending on the video output interface.
The camera combines a high FPS rate with high HDMI bandwidth, so videos are bright and free from freezing or dropped frames. At maximum resolution, the image is highly detailed, moving objects are visible without errors, and motion is displayed without delay.
Monitor
MAGUS MCD monitors work with MAGUS CHD cameras to form a complete imaging system for MAGUS microscopes.
The camera connects via its HDMI interface. The monitor displays images in real time. Its IPS LCD display has a wide viewing angle, high brightness and good contrast. Even when viewed from a wide angle, the image is not distorted. The screen size is 13.3''.
The monitor can be placed on a horizontal surface using a folding stand or mounted directly on a camera or tripod.
Optics
The microscope optics are infinity-corrected. The trinocular tube for mounting the camera is positioned vertically. The light beam can be directed to the eyepiece or the trinocular tube. The camera is not included in the basic configuration. The microscope allows comfortable working for many hours thanks to the 30° inclination of the binocular head. The left eyepiece has a diopter adjustment to adapt the optics to the user’s eyesight.
The revolving nosepiece has 5 slots. The kit includes 4 plan achromatic objectives. Once installed, one slot remains free for an optional objective. The long working distance objectives are designed for brightfield microscopy.
Illumination
The microscope uses reflected light illumination only. The illumination system consists of a polarizing device, an aperture diaphragm and a field diaphragm. Light source: 30 W halogen lamp. The emitted light is not glaring and does not strain the eyes. Both the diaphragm and the light source can be centered. Köhler illumination can also be set up. The kit includes color filters.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The innovative stand and focusing mechanism have two advantages: compact dimensions and the ability to observe samples of any height. The microscope can easily be placed on a laboratory bench with a maximum height of 40 cm. Small samples can be examined using a two-axis stage. Focus is adjusted using coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs positioned on both sides of the stand. The mechanisms operate precisely and smoothly. Coarse focus tension can also be adjusted.
Accessories
The microscope can be upgraded with optional accessories, such as long working distance objectives, eyepieces, a digital camera and calibration slides.
Key features of the microscope:
- Samples of any height and size
- Trinocular head with a trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera and a 100:0 and 0:100 beam splitter
- 30 W halogen lamp with warm-toned light for reflected-light work using brightfield and polarized-light microscopy techniques
- Color filters, option to set up Köhler illumination, and a light source and aperture and field diaphragms that can be centered
- Compact stand for mounting the microscope on a surface
- Numerous additional accessories
Key features of the camera:
- The camera operates independently without a PC connection via the HDMI interface. It can be connected to a PC via the USB 2.0 interface
- The camera has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, ideal for displaying images on a Full HD monitor
- 60 fps or 50 fps, depending on the video output interface, for observing moving objects, recording video and observing specimen movement without delays or jerks
- The back-illuminated color SONY Starvis CMOS sensor provides low-noise images and high light sensitivity, even in low-light conditions. It can produce sharper, brighter images with saturated colors.
- Software for recording and editing photos and videos, external display functions, and linear and angular measurements
