Purple synthetic suture, absorbable VCP397H FS2 4-0 VICRYL PLUS

This purple-colored, absorbable, braided antibacterial suture is made from glycolic acid and lactic acid copolymer (polyglactin 910). The coating includes polyglactin 370, calcium stearate, and Irgacare MP (Triclosan), offering protection against the most common surgical site infections. It retains the same handling and surgical performance as Vycril.

The copolymer with broad-spectrum antibacterial coating prevents colonization by Staphylococci and methicillin-resistant strains. The suture maintains a tensile strength of 75% after 2 weeks and 50% after 3 weeks, ensuring the holding force on the flaps up to 35 days after surgery. Absorption takes place hydrolytically, minimum up to day 40 and complete between day 56 and 70. It is particularly suitable for soft tissue approximation and/or ligation and is sterilized with ethylene oxide.
