The MAGUS Metal 650 metallographic microscope is equipped with a large stage where you can place photomasks, printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, and other long, wide samples to be examined in reflected light. Brightfield and polarized light observations are possible. The microscope provides high-precision focusing. The fine focus value of 0.7 μm makes it easy to examine at high magnification. It is used to conduct research at industrial facilities and to train engineering students.
Digital camera
The MAGUS CBF30 digital camera allows you to take photographs and short videos through a microscope, edit the resulting files, organize presentations, and perform linear and angular measurements of objects (after proper calibration).
The device is designed to work on microscopes using the brightfield method and 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives.
The 6.3 MP sensor allows you to take photos and produce bright and detailed videos at a maximum resolution of 3072x2048 px. If necessary, the resolution can be reduced to 1536x1024 px. However, this will not affect the frame rate, which will remain at 59fps, thus ensuring smooth frame transitions without jerks or lags.
The CMOS sensor SONY Colour backlit Exmor allows you to use the camera even in low light conditions. The image will remain legible and bright. Using an adapter with 0.5x to 0.75x magnification will provide the clearest image possible, without distortion.
Optical
Infinitely planachromatic optics allow for sharp and well-detailed images. The microscope head is trinocular, inclined at 30° and has a trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera. The camera (not included) captures photos and videos of the examined sample and reproduces the microscope image on an external screen. There is a two-position radius divider: 100:0 and 0:100. The light beam is directed at the eyepiece or camera. On the left barrel there is a diopter adjustment ring.
You can install the 5 lenses on the nosepiece, all of which are included in the kit. To achieve higher magnification, optional lenses can be installed instead of the supplied ones. In the basic configuration, the microscope provides a magnification of 50 to 800x. The nosepiece is oriented towards the inside of the instrument, so that the user can see which objective is inserted in the optical path.
Lighting
The reflected light lighting system combines three centring elements: light source, field diaphragm and aperture. The 30W halogen lamp illuminator emits a warm-toned light that ensures no eye strain when used for long periods of time. You can adjust the brightness and you can set the Köhler lighting. The reflected light illumination system also features a polarization device: an integrated analyzer and a removable rotating polarizer. There is a set of color filters.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The most interesting design element of the microscope is the 280x270 mm stage that can be moved along two axes up to 204 mm. This allows the observation of large samples and easy examination of their surface. The coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial and positioned on either side of the microscope, and feature a lock knob and a coarse tension adjustment knob. The handle is near the base of the microscope. You can freely place your hands on the table and have a comfortable position while observing.
Fixings
Accessories compatible with the MAGUS Metal 650 microscope include eyepieces, objectives with a long working distance, digital cameras, and calibration slides. Accessories can be used to expand the capabilities of the microscope.
