Plan achromatic objective for observations in transmitted polarized light. The lenses of the polarizing objective are designed to create neither distortion nor birefringence within the optical system.

Objectives with plan achromatic optics produce a sharp image both in the center and at the edges. This is possible by correcting geometric aberration over more than 90% of the visible field area. Therefore, they combine perfectly with a digital camera or eyepieces with a wide field of view. Combined with a 10x/22 mm eyepiece, they produce a field of view of 0.22 mm. In addition, plan achromatic objectives correct chromatic aberration in two colors (red and blue) and spherical aberration in one color (green).

The MAGUS SF100 DRY model has 100x magnification and a resolution limit of 0.35 µm. It allows the microscope to be magnified from 400 to 800x, but requires eyepieces with magnification from 5x to 10x. Lower magnification will not allow effective study of the sample, while higher magnification will not provide new data. A 0.17 mm-thick coverslip is used for the sample.
