The MAGUS Metal VD700 Metallographic Microscope BD LCD is a digital inverted metallographic microscope: this means that the nosepiece is positioned below the sample and observations are made in reflected light. Microscopy techniques available: bright field, dark field or polarized light. This microscope is used for the examination of metals, alloys, semiconductor materials and other non-transparent materials of large dimensions and weight up to 2 kg. It is widely used in industrial plants, factories, quality control laboratories as well as universities and research centers.
Digital camera
MAGUS CHD40 is an HDMI digital camera with three video interfaces and automatic switching between Full HD and 4K based on the monitor resolution.
The camera features an 8 MP sensor and produces lifelike images at 4K resolution (3840x2160 px) when connected via HDMI or USB 3.0. When connected via Wi-Fi, the image quality is Full HD (1920x1080 px).
The camera uses an HDMI interface to connect directly to a TV, monitor or projector. This way, the camera works independently without a connection to a PC. The HDMI interface enables fast and stable transfer speed from the camera to the external display. You can connect the camera to a PC via Wi-Fi or USB 3.0. The video is recorded at 30 fps.
The camera combines high FPS speed and high HDMI bandwidth. Videos are therefore brilliant without any blocks or jumps between frames. At maximum resolution, the image is very detailed, moving objects are visible without errors and the moving object is displayed without delays.
Monitor
The MAGUS MCD40 monitor is designed to use a MAGUS microscope display system. It is connected to a camera mounted on the microscope to display images in real time. It supports cameras with HDMI connection and 4K resolution. The screen is 13.3 inches. The IPS matrix provides bright images with wide viewing angles. When looking at the display from the side, the color reproduction is not distorted. You can place the display on a table or shelf using a foldable stand or install it directly on the camera or microscope base.
Optics
The design of the microscope allows the head to be assembled in the normal direction or rotated 180°. It is possible to install a digital camera and a monitor: the microscope head is equipped with a trinocular tube and there is a side camera port on the frame. In both optical paths there is a beam splitter: with a ratio of 50:50 and 100:0 for the microscope head, 100:0 and 0:100 for the frame.
A nosepiece for 5 objectives is positioned below the specimen to be observed. There are 4 slots to install the objectives included in the package and an additional slot for an additional objective. All objectives for this microscope are labeled as BD, that is, specifically designed for both brightfield and darkfield microscopy, and have a long working distance.
Lighting
Light source: 50 W halogen lamp. The warm light reduces eye strain and is ideal for long hours of working with the microscope. The powerful illumination provides sharp, detailed images using any microscopy technique and objective. The light source can be centered along three axes and the Köhler illumination can be adjusted using the field and aperture diaphragms. The illumination system for reflected light observations also includes a polarization device and the necessary dark field microscopy equipment.
Stage and focusing mechanism
A round, rotating plate is positioned in the center of the stage. Different plates can be used, depending on the observation you want to make: they differ in the diameter of the hole: 10 mm, 20 mm or 30 mm. After placing the sample on the stage, it is possible to fix it with a support system. The sample moves in solidarity with the stage in two directions: along the X-axis and along the Y-axis. The coarse focusing mechanisms (with macrometric screw equipped with fixing knob and tension adjustment) and fine focusing are used to adjust the sharpness. The coaxial knobs for coarse and fine focusing (macrometric and micrometric screw) are positioned on both sides so that you can rest your hands on the table while using the microscope, without having to hold them in mid-air to adjust the instrument.
Accessories
Adding more accessories to the MAGUS Metal V700 microscope BD It is possible to increase its performance. The range of accessories includes eyepieces, darkfield and brightfield objectives with long working distance, digital cameras and calibration slides.
