The MAGUS Bio D250TL LCD microscope is designed for examining samples in thin sections and smears of biological materials. Observations are performed using bright-field microscopy with transmitted light. A 3-watt LED provides illumination, and the optics feature infinity-corrected plan achromatic objectives. This microscope can be used with additional accessories, including equipment for dark-field, polarized-light, or phase-contrast observations. This microscope model is ideal for laboratory analyses, scientific research, and teaching.
Digital camera
MAGUS CHD10 is the most affordable camera with an HDMI interface.
The camera is equipped with a 2 MP sensor and produces realistic Full HD images at a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
This is a standalone camera that does not require a computer connection or the installation of additional software. The camera can be connected directly to a TV, monitor, or projector to display an image.
The HDMI interface enables fast, stable transfer from the camera to an external screen. Video is recorded at 60 fps.
The camera combines a high FPS with high HDMI bandwidth. As a result, videos are bright, with no freezing or skipped frames. At maximum resolution, images are highly detailed, moving objects are visible without errors, and the movement of the object is displayed without delay.
Monitor
MAGUS MCD monitors work together with MAGUS CHD cameras to form a complete imaging system for MAGUS microscopes.
The camera is connected via its HDMI interface. The monitor displays images in real time. Its IPS LCD display has a wide viewing angle, high brightness, and good contrast. Even when viewed from a wide angle, the image is not distorted. The screen size is 13.3 inches.
The monitor can be placed on a horizontal surface using a folding stand or mounted directly on a camera or tripod.
Optics
The trinocular head consists of two optical tubes for direct observation and a vertical tube for mounting a digital camera (not included). The optical tubes that hold the eyepieces are inclined at 30° for greater comfort during prolonged observations, and can be rotated by 360° to suit the observer’s height. A diopter adjustment ring is located on the left optical tube.
The objectives are fitted in a 5-position nosepiece: 4 objectives are already installed on the instrument, while one nosepiece slot is left free for an additional objective. Any optional objective can be inserted into the free slot, allowing an additional magnification factor to be added within the available magnification range. During observation, the user can see which objective is in the optical path, since the nosepiece is oriented toward the inside of the instrument. This configuration also keeps the space above the stage clear.
The microscope’s magnification range is from 40x to 1000x (in the basic configuration only). Adding extra objectives increases the maximum magnification.
Illumination
LEDs mounted inside the microscope base provide bright, uniform illumination of the specimen. The color temperature remains unchanged even when the brightness is adjusted. The illumination power is 3 W. The LEDs have a service life of up to 50000 hours. The illumination system is powered by AC mains.
Köhler illumination can be configured by adjusting the position of the Abbe condenser and opening or closing the aperture diaphragm and field diaphragm. Sliders can also be used for dark-field or phase-contrast observation (the condenser has a dedicated slot). Using the sliders makes it very quick to switch from one observation method to another.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The stage has no positioning rack. As a result, there is no bulky mechanism to interfere with observations, and the microscope takes up less space on the workbench. The mechanical insert that moves the specimen is removable (useful for manual scanning).
The coarse and fine focusing mechanisms are used to adjust sharpness. Their knobs are located on both sides of the microscope. Because they are positioned close to the base, you do not need to hold your arms up in the air to adjust the focus. Your hands can rest comfortably on the table. The coarse focus has a locking knob, and the coarse adjustment tension can be adjusted. Focusing is smooth and effortless.
Accessories
The capabilities of the MAGUS Bio 250TL microscope can be expanded with a range of dedicated accessories, including eyepieces, objectives, calibration slides, digital cameras, and equipment for dark-field, polarized-light, or phase-contrast observation.
