The BD Venflon Pro Safety 14G 2.0x45 mm sterile cannula needle - pack of 50 is a Class IIa single-use medical device (MDR EU 2017/745) designed to ensure maximum operator safety and high clinical performance in emergency, resuscitation, and critical care settings. Manufactured by BD (Becton Dickinson) , it is indicated for short-term peripheral venous cannulation, particularly for rapid large-volume infusions and very high-flow transfusions.

The 14G catheter is 45 mm long and made of BD Vialon polyurethane , a proprietary biomaterial that improves biocompatibility, reduces the risk of phlebitis and infiltration, and allows for extended dwell times compared to traditional materials. The identifying color is orange .

The device integrates a passive and irreversible safety system that, once insertion is complete, completely covers the needle blade, significantly reducing the risk of accidental needle sticks.
