Description
The BOEL test is the only screening tool used by the pediatrician to judge children's hearing faculties and allows early verification of the response to a sound stimulus already at an age between 6 and 10 months. The device is created taking the classic BOEL test as a basis both for the ergonomics of the shapes (it fits in the palm of the hand) and for the sound standards of the BOEL test bells. In fact, the two sound stimuli reproduce a dull low-frequency sound around 125-150 Hz and a high-pitched high-frequency sound around 5.0-5.1 kHz in a way that is perfectly equivalent to what is reproduced by the bells of the BOEL test (86dBA, 96dBA). This allows us to test the child's response on these highly significant thresholds. The device is easy to handle, lightweight, battery powered, and has only two buttons for selecting the two test frequencies. To carry out the original Boel test, we recommend using optometric pencils to capture the child's attention, see code 31319.
