BOFAP is a unique and revolutionary medical device conceived, designed, patented, and manufactured by LUMED. It can ensure perfect equipment hygiene and reduce the risk of cross-contamination between patients. Like a classic filter, it is inserted at the head of the spirometer and the examination is performed. Materials making up the BoFAP:
- EUROSPIRO mouthpieces, disposable in biocompatible cardboard from recycled paper
- Filter material, electrostatically charged synthetic fiber with double layer of polypropylene for medical use
- Biodegradable and compostable material for packaging, for the packaging of the individual filter

Features:
- It allows the abatement of up to 99.9% of particulate matter with a size of 0.2 microns, therefore also of viruses and bacteria. Ensures patient and operator safety
- Total absence of glues
- Flow resistance and dead space according to the limit values reported in the guidelines of ERS (European Respiratory Society) and ATS (American Thorax Society)
- Almost zero environmental impact thanks to the 99% reduction in plastic materials compared to current antibacterial filters
