The MAGUS Metal VD700 Digital Metallographic Microscope BD It is an inverted metallographic microscope: this means that the nosepiece is positioned below the sample and that observations are made in reflected light. Available microscopy techniques: brightfield, darkfield or polarized light. This microscope is used for the examination of metals, alloys, semiconductor materials and other non-transparent materials weighing up to 2 kg. It is widely used in industrial plants, factories, quality control laboratories as well as universities and research centers.
Digital camera
The MAGUS CLM30 digital camera is designed for dark field microscopy and fluorescence techniques. The camera is equipped with an 8.3 MP sensor and produces realistic images at a resolution of 3840x2160 px. It is recommended to use the camera with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x lenses. When using low-magnification lenses, the camera allows the wearer to see sharper details.
Videos are recorded at 45fps or 70fps depending on the resolution – videos flow smoothly with smooth and delicate transitions between frames. The movement of the sample is shown in real time, without delays. The camera makes it easy to observe moving objects and is suitable for academic demonstrations.
The camera is equipped with a USB interface 3.0. Data transfer speed is 10 times faster than USB cameras 2.0. The high-speed camera is recommended for professional labs, research, or university education.
Optical
The design of the microscope will allow the head to be assembled in the normal direction or by rotating it 180°. A digital camera and monitor can be installed: the microscope head is equipped with a trinocular tube, and there is a side camera port on the frame. In both optical paths there is a beam splitter: with a ratio of 50:50 and 100:0 for the microscope head, 100:0 and 0:100 for the frame.
A 5-objective nosepiece is positioned below the specimen to be observed. There are 4 slots to install the lenses included in the package and an additional slot for an additional lens. All objectives for this microscope are labeled as BD, i.e. specifically designed for both brightfield and darkfield microscopy, and have a long working distance.
Lighting
Light source: 50 W halogen lamp. The warm light reduces eye strain and is ideal for long hours spent working under a microscope. Thanks to the powerful illumination, sharp, detailed images are obtained using any microscopy technique and any objective. The light source can be centered along the three axes and the Köhler illumination can be adjusted via the field and aperture diaphragms. The illumination system for observations in reflected light also includes a polarization device and the necessary instrumentation for darkfield microscopy.
Stage and focusing mechanism
In the center of the table is placed a round and swivel plate. Different plates can be used, depending on the observation you want to make: they differ from each other in the diameter of the hole: 10 mm, 20 mm or 30 mm. After placing the sample on the stage, you can secure it with a support system. The sample moves in a way integral with the stage in two directions: along the X axis and along the Y axis. The coarse (with coarse screw equipped with fixing knob and tension adjustment) and fine focus mechanisms are used for sharpness adjustment. The coaxial knobs for coarse and fine focusing (macro- and micrometer screw) are positioned on both sides so that you can rest your hands on the table while using the microscope, without having to hold them in mid-air to adjust the instrument.
Fixings
Adding more accessories to the MAGUS Metal V700 microscope BD You can increase its performance. The range of accessories includes eyepieces, darkfield and brightfield objectives with long working distance, digital cameras and calibration slides.
Key features of the microscope:
- Stage with round plate and 10 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm holes suitable for examining large and heavy samples
- Brightfield, darkfield, or polarized light microscopy techniques
- Possibility to rotate the microscope head by 180° during installation
- Two options for housing the digital camera and installing a monitor: the trinocular tube and the side port for the beam splitter camera: 100:0 and 0:100 in the microscope frame, 50:50 and 100:0 in the trinocular head
- Powerful halogen lamp illumination (50 W) for comfortable observation using darkfield techniques, brightness control, Köhler illumination, color filters and a light source that can be centered on three axes
- Optional accessories to improve the performance of the microscope
Key features of the camera:
- For darkfield and fluorescence microscopy with 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives
- 8.3 MP resolution: When observing with low-magnification lenses, the camera allows the user to see sharper details
- 45 fps and 70 fps, at 3840x2160 pixels and 1920x1080 pixels respectively, for observing samples with moving elements, recording videos and handling the specimen without jerks or delays
- The Peltier cell lowers the temperature of the sensor during prolonged operation and eliminates thermal noise, thus allowing you to use a long shutter speed when taking photographs.
- The CMOS sensor SONY Color backlit Exmor delivers images with low noise and high light sensitivity even in low light conditions. You can get sharper, brighter and more color-saturated images.
- USB 3.0 interface for fast and smooth data transfer
- Software for recording and editing photos and videos, external display functions, linear and angular measurements
