The MAGUS Metal V700 inverted metallographic microscope is suitable for the study of microstructures in metals, alloys and semiconductor materials in reflected light. The stage can hold samples up to 2 kg (only the bottom surface of the sample must be flat). The other parts of the sample do not need to be prepared and can have any shape. This microscope is designed for brightfield and polarized light observations, has a side camera port and a trinocular tube, and is suitable for a wide range of applications in the laboratory and industrial manufacturing.
Digital camera
The MAGUS CBF30 digital camera allows you to take photographs and short videos through a microscope, edit the resulting files, organize presentations, and perform linear and angular measurements of objects (after proper calibration).
The device is designed to work on microscopes using the brightfield method and 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives.
The 6.3 MP sensor allows you to take photos and produce bright and detailed videos at a maximum resolution of 3072x2048 px. If necessary, the resolution can be reduced to 1536x1024 px. However, this will not affect the frame rate, which will remain at 59fps, thus ensuring smooth frame transitions without jerks or lags.
The CMOS sensor SONY Colour backlit Exmor allows you to use the camera even in low light conditions. The image will remain legible and bright. Using an adapter with 0.5x to 0.75x magnification will provide the clearest image possible, without distortion.
Optical
The microscope is equipped with a specially designed trinocular head, so that the position of the eyepieces can be adjusted and the head can also be rotated by 180°. The digital camera is housed in the special side port on the microscope frame and the monitor can be installed in the third tube of the trinocular head. The beam splitter in the microscope body deflects the light beam with a ratio of 100:0 and 0:100, while the beam splitter of the trinocular head has a ratio of 50:50 and 100:0.
The nosepiece is located under the specimen to be examined and has 5 objective slots (all included in the basic configuration). All lenses are infinitely corrected planachromat, with long working distance. An additional lens can be mounted in place of one of the ones provided. In its basic configuration, the total magnification range of the microscope is from 50x to 1000x.
Lighting
The reflector has a 30 W halogen bulb with adjustable brightness. The light is powered by the AC mains. The brightness is large enough to make observations with all objectives included, using brightfield or polarized light microscopy techniques. Köhler lighting can be set up and the light source can be centred along the three axes. To change the color rendering in photomicrography images, you can use the color filters provided. Polarization tools are also available: an analyzer and a polarizer, both removable.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The stage involves the insertion of a round plate with a 10 mm, 20 mm or 30 mm hole to which the sample to be observed is fixed with a support system. The stage is quite large (242x200 mm) and moves along two axes in a way that is integral with the sample attached to it. You can adjust the sharpness of the image using the coarse and fine focus knobs (macro- and micrometer screw). You can adjust the stiffness of the tension for the coarse screw, and there is a fixing knob.
Fixings
Additional accessories make it possible to get the most out of the MAGUS Metal V700 microscope. Eyepieces, planachromatic objectives with long working distance, calibration slides and digital cameras are available.
