MAGUS Bio 230B Biological Microscope

The MAGUS Bio 230B microscope is designed for use in technical and research laboratories, for the observation of biological samples such as thin cross-sections or smears. The analysis of the samples is carried out using the transmitted light microscopy technique (bright field). If required, the microscope can be equipped with additional accessories for observations in darkfield, polarized light and phase contrast techniques. This microscope is suitable for use in industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical research, biotechnology, environmental protection, forensic science, and agriculture.

Optical

The microscope is equipped with a binocular head. The optical tubes can rotate 360°, allowing the user to adjust their position to suit their height. On the left barrel there is a diopter adjustment ring. The nosepiece has 5 slots and is oriented towards the inside of the instrument: in this way, the user can see which objective is inserted in the optical path and the space above the stage remains free. Four achromatic objectives are included in the package, and the fifth slot can be used to accommodate an additional objective.

The optics are infinitely correct. The basic magnification of the microscope ranges from 40x to 1000x. With the additional eyepieces, it can be extended up to 1500x, 1600x and 2000x. If required, a digital camera (not included) can be accommodated in the optical tube.

Lighting

The light source is a halogen lamp placed at the base of the microscope. The warm light reduces eye strain and is ideal for long hours spent working under a microscope. The 30 W halogen lamp allows you to reproduce bright, high-contrast images with any type of objective and microscopy technique (including darkfield and phase contrast).

The Abbe condenser can be centered and its position is adjustable in height. A darkfield or phase contrast slider can be inserted into a dedicated slot, allowing you to easily switch between observation techniques. The field diaphragm makes it possible to set up Köhler lighting.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The stage does not have a positioning rack, which makes it easier to use the microscope. A mechanical insert, which can be removed if necessary, ensures the smooth movement of the sample on the stage.

The coarse and fine focus knobs (macro- and micrometer screw) are coaxial and positioned on either side of the microscope, in the lower part. The position of the dim knobs allows you to rest your hands freely on the table and sit comfortably during prolonged observations. Adjusting the focus is smooth and effortless. The coarse focus is equipped with a fixing knob and the tension of the coarse screw can be adjusted.

Fixings

Additional equipment, such as objectives, eyepieces, phase contrast devices, darkfield capacitors, polarization devices, digital cameras or other accessories can increase the potential of the microscope. They are designed for the MAGUS Bio 230B and available on request.
