Discovery Channel informs, entertains and inspires its audiences around the world about the wonders of our planet, its diversity and its surprises. Offering millions of people the chance to make new discoveries and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery offers an engaging mix of narratives, spanning multiple genres: science and technology, exploration, adventure, history, and a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places, and organizations that shape the world we live in.
We are proud to introduce you to the Discoveryline of optical instruments, produced by Levenhuk and sponsored by Discovery.
See a brief comparison of the microscope series Discovery »
The Atto Polar Levenhuk Discovery microscope is designed for the study of the microcosm with adjustable magnification from 40x to 1000x. It is possible to carry out examinations in reflected and transmitted light, as well as by immersion in oil. This tool will prove to be a capable assistant for hobbies, university studies and even laboratory experiments. An in-depth educational book, "Invisible World", is included in the kit.
The microscope is equipped with a 45° swivel monocular head, which makes prolonged observations or group experiments more comfortable. When many people need to be able to observe the same sample, the head can be rotated as desired without the need to move the entire instrument.
The magnification range is from 40x to 1000x. The 10x wide-field eyepiece is equipped with a pointer. The 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x achromatic objectives are conveniently mounted on a nosepiece, which makes it possible to quickly adjust the magnification factor. The 40x and 100x objectives are equipped with a spring mechanism. In addition, there is a focus with macro and micrometer adjustment.
The microscope stage is equipped with a mechanical translator, for added convenience. The Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and portafilter is positioned below the stage. The lighting system consists of two parts: an upper and a lower one with variable intensity. The lighting can be battery powered (not included) or via wall outlet (AC adapter included).
The book "Invisible World" is a wonderful didactic testo that tells about microscopes and the microcosm. It includes hints on scientific theories and practical advice on how to carry out experiments at home. It is a perfect complement to the Atto Polar Levenhuk Discovery microscope.
