Description
ASKINA DRESSIL BORDER - 7.5X7.5CM
Askina® DresSil Border is a dressing with selective tri-layered micro-adhesion, in polyurethane foam that has, on the side in contact with the wound bed, a layer of silicone equipped with numerous holes that facilitate the passage of the exudate. The particular structure of the dressing has a slight convexity on all four sides, allowing it to be correctly adapted to the shape of the wound and preventing any curling of the edges. The presence of the polyurethane film adhesive edge associated with a medical silicone film equipped with a particular hole architecture that guarantees the atraumatic characteristics typical of the silicone interface, ensures maximum protection of the periwound skin and excellent adhesiveness even in parts of the body subjected to stress. The dressing can be easily removed without the release of residue on the wound bed.
Askina® DresSil Border is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of wounds with medium/high exudate, partial or full thickness, such as: pressure ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers of the lower limbs, diabetic foot ulcers, first and second degree burns, explant sites, skin lacerations. Its reduced thickness allows it to be used on lesions in anatomical areas that require high conformability.
1) Layer in contact with the lesion: medical-grade silicone film, equipped with a particular architecture of holes that allow the passage of the exudate to the next layer of polyurethane foam.
The structure of the holes is characterized by a matrix that is repeated throughout the extension of the silicone layer and consists of a central hole with a diameter of 5 mm surrounded by 6 holes with a diameter of 3 mm.
2) Middle layer: hydrophilic absorbent hydrocellular structure made of polyurethane foam. It allows a high "vertical" absorption of exudate, without release under pressure. It also allows
excellent management of the humid environment and eliminates the risks of maceration of the edges of the lesion.
3) Outer layer: polyurethane film impermeable to liquids and bacteria (external agents) and permeable gas. This allows the fabrics to breathe, maintaining the right humid environment, allowing liquids to evaporate
in excess.
How to use:
• Cleanse the wound with a suitable solution (e.g., Prontosan® solution) following normal procedures
• Dry the skin around the wound
• Select a dressing of a suitable size to cover the surface of the wound, ensuring that there is adequate space between the adhesive edge and the edges of the wound
• Remove the protection sheet and apply the adhesive side (silicone) to the lesion
• Adhere the dressing to the wound
• During removal, lift one edge of the dressing and remove it slowly
Risk Class: IIb
