Description
ASKINA SORB 2.7X34CM
Askina® Sorb by B. Braun is a primary conformable sterile dressing based on calcium alginate and hydrocolloids (Carboxymethylcellulose - CMC), indicated for the treatment of moderately to abundantly exuding wounds.
Askina® Sorb absorbs exudate vertically over the entire surface of the dressing. The alginate and hydrocolloid fibers react on contact with the exudate to form a soft and compact gel. This gel, in addition to absorbing exudate, allows the maintenance of ideal humidity conditions that favor the healing process. The gel also allows a gaseous exchange with the wound surface, protecting the bottom of the wound from rubbing by a secondary covering dressing.
Directions for use
Askina Sorb is an extremely absorbent dressing indicated for the treatment of moderately to heavily exuding wounds, partial or full thickness, infections and/or bleeding, in the presence of fibrin or necrosis. It should not be used in the case of surgical implants or third-degree® burns.
Askina® Sorb can be used in the treatment of injuries such as:
• Pressure sores
• Arterial ulcers
• Venous ulcers
• Diabetic ulcers
• Skin transplants
• Acute wounds
• Dermis lesions
At the change of dressing, the removal takes place in a complete and atraumatic way, with a simple washing based on saline solution or other detergent solution, without the newly formed tissue being damaged in any way or any dressing residues remaining inside the wound.
