Prontosan Wound Gel X from B. Braun is a gel for cleansing and hydrating chronic wounds based on Polyhexanide (PHMB) and Propylbetaine which guarantees long-lasting cleaning and decontamination of the wound bed between dressings.

Thanks to the special combination of its components (antimicrobial substance, polyhexanide and the surfactant betaine), Prontosan Wound Gel X is ideal for preventing the formation of bacterial biofilm . Clinical tests, in fact, confirm that it is an effective barrier capable of reducing microbial penetration through the dressing.

The high density of the gel formulation allows for high product stability on the wound bed and ease of application thanks to its greater compactness. Prontosan Gel X also helps hydrate necrotic tissue and fibrin present in the wound bed, facilitating autolytic processes.

For cleansing, hydrating and decontaminating:
- Acute infected and non-infected injuries: Traumatic injuries such as lacerations, abrasions, or cuts (if suturing is indicated, it should be applied after surgery)
- Chronic infected and non-infected lesions (including complex and recalcitrant lesions, necrotic lesions, cavitary or difficult-to-access lesions)
- Thermal, chemical burns and post-radiotherapy injuries: superficial (first degree, I), superficial partial thickness (second degree, IIa), deep partial thickness (second degree, IIb), deep full thickness (third degree, III)
- Post-surgical wounds
- Frostbite injuries

Composition per 100 gr.:
- Polyaminopropyl biguanide (Polyhesanide) (at 20% weight by weight): 0.50 gr.
- Undecylene-amidopropylbetaine (at 30% weight by weight): 0.35 gr.
- Hydroxyethyl cellulose: 3.10 gr.
