The Levenhuk Discovery Basics CN5 insect jar is a small, clear-walled jar equipped with two magnifying lenses: one fixed to the lid and one that swivels on pins. You can easily and safely examine the tiny creatures of the world around us. The jar can hold an insect, a spider, a gnat, and even a fish: just remember to fill it with water first, of course. Once the jar is closed, you can study the specimen from any angle. You can also put twigs, algae, minerals, and many other inanimate objects in the jar.

The lenses provide 3x and 8x magnification, allowing specimens to be viewed at different sizes. The jar is made of plastic, so it is not at risk of breaking if accidentally dropped.
