The water of the "Fonti di Bellisio-Madonna del Sasso" spring is classified as chlorinated, sulphate, calcic, magnesium, sodium, fluorinated, and sulphurous water, containing sulphur with an unmistakable smell, in the form of hydrogen sulphide. Another property of this water is the hardness (51-64 °F) linked to the presence of calcium and magnesium salts.

Used for inhalations, it promotes mucoregulation and has vasodilation and antioxidant activities.
The effects of the water administered on the respiratory system arise from the natural balance of the anionic and cationic components and are as follows:
- mucolytic action, mainly linked to the presence of hydrogen sulphide;
- cilioactive action and improvement of mucociliary transport;
- anti-inflammatory action;
- antiseptic action.

Indicated in the prevention and treatment of sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, rhinitis and rhinitis and all catarrhal diseases affecting the upper respiratory tract
