LH Dermoscrub is a chlorhexidine digluconate-based antiseptic for antiseptic and surgical handwashing; emergency hand disinfection; external cleansing and antisepsis in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Fields of use:
Disinfectant-antibacterial agent for use in healthcare settings (hospitals, operating rooms, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, etc.), preferably when a cleansing action is also required. Emergency hand disinfection – disinfectant and surgical handwashing – external cleansing and disinfection in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Directions for use:
Use undiluted - For surgical handwashing, treat hands and forearms with LH Dermoscrub for at least 2 minutes

Mechanism of action:
At relatively low concentrations, chlorhexidine has a bacteriostatic action, whereas at higher concentrations its action is rapidly bactericidal. The lethal process has been shown to consist of a series of related physiological and cytological changes that culminate in cell death; in particular, the sequence hypothesized is as follows:
- Rapid attraction toward the bacterial cell
- Specific and strong adsorption to certain compounds containing phosphate groups on the bacterial surface
- Resistance to the exclusion mechanism of the bacterial cell wall
- Attraction toward the cytoplasmic membrane
- Release of low-molecular-weight cytoplasmic components (e.g. potassium ions) and inhibition of certain membrane-bound enzymes such as adenosine triphosphatase

Precipitation of the cytoplasm through the formation of complex salts with phosphate entities such as adenosine triphosphate and nucleic acids.
