Video optical tube with a SONY Exmor digital sensor of 8.3 MP. The sensor uses back-illumination technology to improve light sensitivity and produce bright, sharp images even in low-light conditions. The camera is used for brightfield and darkfield microscopy with 4x, 10x and 20x objectives. It can also be used with stereoscopic microscopes. To connect to a computer and view images on the screen, a high-speed USB 3.0 port is used, with a data transfer rate of 5 Gbps.

The MAGUS CDF30 camera is installed on the trinocular tube or optical tube of a microscope. The maximum field of view without optical defects can be achieved by using an adapter with magnification from 0,65x to 0,9x. In addition to the adapter, an adapter with the same diameter as the tube is required to install the camera on the optical tube. Please note that the C-mount adapter may already be included with the microscope; however, its availability depends on the specific model and configuration. Before purchasing a camera, we recommend checking the contents of the microscope package and then, if necessary, purchasing the appropriate adapters.

The image is displayed on the computer screen at a maximum resolution of 3840x2160 px. The frame rate is 45 fps. At a lower resolution (1920x1080 px), the frame rate increases to 70 fps. Transitions between frames are almost imperceptible, with no delays, so the camera is suitable for studying and presenting moving objects. Photos and videos can be recorded and saved in various formats.

Before using the MAGUS CDF30 digital camera, special software must be installed on the computer. The camera comes with a CD containing drivers and MAGUS View software. The software must be calibrated for each objective. A calibration slide, which is not included in the kit, is required for this.
