Description
The BOEL test is the only screening tool used by the pediatrician to judge the hearing faculties of children and allows to verify the response to a sound stimulus early as early as 6 to 10 months of age. The device is made on the basis of the classic BOEL test both for the ergonomics of the shapes (it is enclosed in the palm of the hand) and for the sound standards of the BOEL test bells. In fact, the two sound stimuli reproduce a low-frequency deaf-low sound around 125-150 Hz and a high-pitched high-frequency sound around 5.0-5.1 kHz in a way perfectly equivalent to what is reproduced by the BOEL test bells (86dBA, 96dBA). This allows the child's response to be tested on these highly significant thresholds. The device is handy, lightweight, battery-powered, has only two buttons for selecting the two test frequencies. To make the original Boel test, we recommend using optometric pencils to capture the child's attention, see code 31319.
