Aerosol therapy is a method of administering medication for chronic and acute respiratory conditions, increasingly favored by both general practitioners and specialists. This is due to the ability to deliver the medication as effectively as possible where it is needed, while minimizing side effects. The most common technique for aerosol therapy uses air pressure generated by a compressor and conveyed into a nebulizer (chamber). By exploiting the well-known Venturi principle, the nebulizer channels the nebulized flow into the respiratory tract through special accessories (mask, mouthpiece and nasal attachment).
