Description

Cheap and accurate plicometer, made in Italy. It measures the thickness of the skin folds in various districts of the body, according to the characteristics of the instrument designed by Tanner and Whitehouse:
- pressure exerted on the fold: about 10 g/mm2
- contact surface on the fold: approx. 6 x 11 mm

This tool allows us to give an exact assessment of the nutritional status of the subject under examination and how his adipose tissue is distributed sectorally. The user lifts a fold of the skin between his fingers to measure its thickness with the tool's pliers: on the upper edge there is a scale in millimeters on which an arrow moves that immediately measures the fold (triceps, subscapularis, etc.) with an approximation of about 1/2mm. At the same time as the measurement, the coloured bands inserted near this scale make it possible to compare the value recorded with the separate reference percentiles for men and women. Supplied with user manual that helps in the interpretation of values.
