The Introcan Safety 3® safety cannula needle is equipped with a membrane positioned inside the catheter cone that ensures the closure of the system throughout its use. The diaphragm, which opens only if a connection is made with a device with Luer and/or Luer Lock, has the ability to be multi-activated.

The device has been designed to:

• minimize the risk of accidental punctures thanks to a passive safety system to protect the needle
• have greater stability of the catheter thanks to a design specifically designed to reduce movement inside the vessel
• ensure the closure of the system avoiding possible contamination or spills of blood or medication

Directions:
Introcan Safety 3® is indicated for venous and arterial cannulation, drug infusion, blood pressure monitoring, transfusions and blood draws. The catheters (14G to 24G) can be used with injectors at a maximum pressure of 325 psi, to infuse contrast media (viscous liquids) during diagnostic examinations. The maximum flows are shown in the summary table. In such applications, use only Luer-Lock type connections. Introcan Safety 3 ® is also indicated for subcutaneous infusion therapies.
The cannula needle consists of:

- Triple sharpening needle with back cut with atraumatic passage of the skin thanks to the adequate tapering between the needle itself and the catheter
- Catheter made of highly histocompatible, flexible and transparent material to make the successful puncture immediately visible. Polyurethane (PUR) cannula, equipped with 4 radiopaque lines that allow the device to be viewed during diagnostic examinations, The radiopaque bands incorporated in the section to limit roughness on the surface for the containment of thrombogenicity. The radiopaque band material does not interact with infused drugs and/or blood.

- Catheter lubricated with medical-grade silicone and finished with plasma beams to make insertion smoother
- High flow catheter due to high internal calibers. (see attached table for details)
- Transparent reflux chamber equipped with cap with water-repellent membrane (1.2 microns)
- Elastomeric membrane/septum, placed inside the catheter cone, multiactivation, which blocks the leakage of blood during use of the device.
- Luer Lock terminal attachment and color-coded catheter cone for each gauge.
- Equipped with large, flexible and perforated flaps to facilitate the insertion of the device and ensure optimal fixation of the device to the patient's skin. Colour according to the colour code.
- Equipped with a protective device mounted on the needle and located inside the base of the cannula before the plastic catheter
