MAGUS Bio 250B biological microscope

The MAGUS Bio 250B biological microscope is a useful optical instrument for the study of thin, transparent and semi-transparent samples. The main technique used for the observations is brightfield microscopy. This microscope can be equipped with additional accessories for darkfield observations, phase contrast techniques, or polarized light. With high-quality optics, additional elements that expand its capabilities, easy-to-use mechanisms, and smart design, this microscope is an excellent choice for laboratory tasks, research, and teaching.

Optical

The binocular head allows a digital camera to be housed in one of the optical tubes of the eyepieces (camera not included). The eyepiece tubes can be rotated 360° to comfortably adapt the instrument to the height of the observer. The diopter adjustment dial is located on the left optical tube.

The nosepiece allows the installation of 5 objectives. The microscope is equipped with infinitely planachromatic objectives that provide clear, high-contrast images across the entire field of view. There is a single free slot in the nosepiece for accommodating an additional lens. The objective revolver with its objectives is oriented towards the inside of the instrument. This way, the operator can see which lens is inserted in the optical path and the space above the stage remains free.

The microscope's optics, in its basic configuration, provide magnification from 40x to 1000x. The use of additional eyepieces, if necessary, allows you to increase the upper limit of the magnification range.

Lighting

Light source: 30 W halogen lamp. This lamp provides intense, uniform sample illumination with any objective lens and observation method, including darkfield and phase contrast techniques. The warm spectrum of the light emitted is pleasing to the eye and comfortable for the eyes, and avoids visual fatigue even when working under a microscope for a long time.

The Abbe capacitor has a slot in which to insert a darkfield slider or a phase contrast slider. The condenser design makes it quick and easy to switch from one observation technique to another. The condenser is adjustable in height and can be centered. The field diaphragm makes it possible to set up Köhler lighting.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The stage is equipped with a mechanical insert that can be removed for manual scanning of the sample. There is no positioning rack, which ensures ergonomic movement of the table.

Sharpness is adjusted via two coaxial knobs for coarse and fine focus (macro and micrometer), located on either side of the microscope body. The focusing mechanism is smooth and precise: you don't need to exert any excessive force to turn the knobs. The coarse focus is equipped with a fixing knob and the tension of the coarse screw can be adjusted. The focus knobs are located at the base of the microscope. This way, the operator can keep their hands flat on the table instead of having to adjust the tool with their arms in mid-air. This ensures greater comfort during long work sessions.

A wide range of accessories allows the MAGUS Bio 250B to be configured in the way that best suits the user. In fact, eyepieces, lenses, instruments for darkfield observations, with phase contrast or polarized light, calibration slides and digital cameras are available.
