Description
The PA5 is a portable pediatric air conduction, free-field, visual stimulation audiometer. Thanks to the headset, it can also be used for regular adult screening. The unique characteristics of PA5 help clinicians assess the auditory behavior of infants and children up to 24 months of age through specific tests.
AutoPalpebral Reflex (APR) Test
The APR test consists of causing a reflex of the eyelid through some relatively loud sounds and can be performed on newborns from the day of birth. It does not require the child's cooperation.
Conditioned Orientation Response (COR) test
Based on the phenomenon called "orientation reflex" which consists of a natural reflex caused by a sound or visual stimulation. If the conditioning is effective, the child will look in the direction of the sound before visual stimulation is even presented.
Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA)
Extension and modification of the COR, where collaboration with the child is less important. Not only is the orientation and localization reflex of sound accepted but also 4 other reactions: reflexes (body and face), search reactions, orientation and reactions

Evaluation of the progression of auditory and audiometric responses
Various stimuli are presented with different intensities, frequencies, durations, direction of sound to provoke specific reactions in the child such as awakening, crying, surprise, direct localization of the sound.
