ZERì SNACK - Food for Special Medical Purposes indicated for the dietary treatment of subjects suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and notified to the Ministry of Health.

Zerìsnack is a product in cracker format (salty snack), based on medium-chain fatty acids and with a low glycemic index.

In patients with cystic fibrosis, due to the increase in basal metabolic rate, which can vary from 110% to 200%, the energy intake must be higher than in the general population.

Fats provide an amount of energy (9 Kcal/g) that is more than double that of proteins and carbohydrates.
The guidelines suggest using easily digestible lipids such as MCTs (medium-chain fatty acids) especially in the presence of particularly compromised pancreatic function. MCTs, in fact, are digested more easily and do not require a concomitant intake of pancreatic enzymes.

A portion (40 grams) of ZERì SNACK provides 168 kcal, an additional caloric quota suitable for consumption at any time of the day as a supplement to main meals.

ZERì SNACK has a low glycemic index and can also be taken by patients who have already developed diabetes.
