The MAGUS Metal D600 metallographic digital microscope BD It is designed for the study of objects in reflected light using brightfield, darkfield and polarization microscopy techniques. The microscope is used to examine metal and semiconductor samples, as well as other polished and flat samples with high reflective capacity. The transmitted light technique allows the examination of translucent samples such as thin films and particles stuck on filters. The microscope can be used in the fields of mechanical and metallurgical engineering, engineering and quality control laboratories and polytechnics.
Digital camera
The MAGUS CLM30 digital camera is designed for dark field microscopy and fluorescence techniques. The camera is equipped with an 8.3 MP sensor and produces realistic images at a resolution of 3840x2160 px. It is recommended to use the camera with 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x lenses. When using low-magnification lenses, the camera allows the wearer to see sharper details.
Videos are recorded at 45fps or 70fps depending on the resolution – videos flow smoothly with smooth and delicate transitions between frames. The movement of the sample is shown in real time, without delays. The camera makes it easy to observe moving objects and is suitable for academic demonstrations.
The camera is equipped with a USB interface 3.0. Data transfer speed is 10 times faster than USB cameras 2.0. The high-speed camera is recommended for professional labs, research, or university education.
Optical
The trinocular head is equipped with a trinocular tube for housing a digital camera. The beam splitter directs the light onto the camera, in two positions: 100:0 and 0:100. The light beam reaches the eyepiece or trinocular tube. Diopter adjustment ring on the left eyepiece.
The magnification of the microscope in the basic configuration is 50–400x. Any additional objectives and eyepieces will increase the magnification range. The microscope uses planachromatic objectives with a long working distance suitable for brightfield and darkfield microscopy techniques. There are five slots in the nosepiece for mounting the lenses. Four lenses are included, and one is optional. The nosepiece is oriented towards the inside of the instrument, so that the user can see which objective is inserted in the optical path.
Lighting
The lighting uses warm light halogen lamps that do not strain the eye during long-lasting observations. The transmitted light illuminator has a power of 30 W and the reflected light illuminator has a power of 50 W, which guarantees comfortable observation by darkfield microscopy.
The reflected light illumination system contains: a darkfield device, polarization device, centerable field and aperture diaphragms for the Köhler lighting method and color filters. It is also possible to center the light source.
The transmitted light illumination system includes: a condenser with a flip-up lens for low-magnification objectives, an aperture and a field diaphragm for the Köhler method.
Stage and focusing mechanism
The sample moves along the two axes along the table. The height of the sample examined must not exceed 20 mm. The stage features a transparent slide for observing translucent specimens.
The focus is adjusted by means of coarse and fine focus knobs that are located on either side at the bottom of the microscope, thus allowing the viewer to place their hands freely on the table instead of holding them in the air. The coarse focus mechanism has a lock knob on the right and a tension adjustment knob on the left.
Fixings
The range of accessories compatible with the MAGUS Metal 600 microscope BD Includes: long-distance objectives for darkfield and brightfield observations, eyepieces, calibration slides and digital cameras.
Key features of the microscope:

- Observations of translucent samples in transmitted light
- Trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera and a beam splitter with two positions (100:0 and 0:100)
- Planachromatic objectives with a long working distance. The acronym BD means it's suitable for darkfield and lightfield techniques
- Transmitted light illuminator with 30 W halogen lamp and reflected light illuminator with 50 W halogen lamp that allow comfortable observation under the microscope in a dark field
- Köhler illumination (reflected light) with the option to center the light source, aperture and field diaphragms, color filters
- Köhler illumination (transmitted light) with centerable and height-adjustable Abbe condenser, tilting condenser lenses for low-magnification objectives
- Wide range of fully compatible eyepieces and objectives
Key features of the camera:
- For darkfield and fluorescence microscopy with 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x objectives
- 8.3 MP resolution: When observing with low-magnification lenses, the camera allows the user to see sharper details
- 45 fps and 70 fps, at 3840x2160 pixels and 1920x1080 pixels respectively, for observing samples with moving elements, recording videos and handling the specimen without jerks or delays
- The Peltier cell lowers the temperature of the sensor during prolonged operation and eliminates thermal noise, thus allowing you to use a long shutter speed when taking photographs.
- The CMOS sensor SONY Color backlit Exmor delivers images with low noise and high light sensitivity even in low light conditions. You can get sharper, brighter and more color-saturated images.
- USB 3.0 interface for fast and smooth data transfer
- Software for recording and editing photos and videos, external display functions, linear and angular measurements
