The Ermenrich NetGeeks NP40 All-In-One is a digital cable tester designed to trace twisted pairs and telephony cables, to test lines for faults and installation errors, to measure cable length and distance to the point where an interruption has occurred (open circuit) or a short circuit is present. This tool will prove to be very practical for technicians who implement and maintain a computer network or telephone network within an office, an entire building or a house.
In its basic operating mode, this tool can check for damage on individual electrical wires within a cable: open circuits, short circuits, twisted pairs. Using the cable length measurement mode, you can measure the total length of cables within 200 meters, as well as the distance to the point of failure. If required, calibration and measurements can be performed in TDR (reflectometry in the time domain) with high accuracy.
The blinking port function can be used to accurately find the port on the network switch or router to which the test cable is connected. The PoE test identifies the type of PSE and detects the midspan/endspan link. This instrument can also measure voltage and polarity. The tester receiver can be set to NCV mode to detect the presence of voltage without any contact.
The transmitter and receiver are battery-powered (not included).
