Description
ASKINA DRESSIL HEEL - 22X21,6CM
Askina® DresSil Heel is a selective, tri-layered, shaped polyurethane foam dressing for the heel that has a layer of silicone on the side in contact with the wound bed with numerous holes that facilitate the passage of exudate. The particular structure of the dressing allows the correct adaptation of the dressing to the level of the sacral area, preventing any curling of the edges and the infiltration of any effluents. The presence of the polyurethane film edge associated with a medical silicone film equipped with a particular hole architecture that guarantees the atraumatic characteristics typical of the silicone interface, ensures maximum protection of the periwound skin and excellent adhesiveness even in parts of the body subjected to stress.

Dimensions:
22cm x 21.6cm --> hydroactive surface area of 433cm2

Directions:
Askina® DresSil Heel is indicated for the treatment of moderately exuding wounds of partial or full thickness.
1) Layer in contact with the lesion: medical silicone film, equipped with a particular architecture of holes that allow the passage of the exudate to the next layer of polyurethane foam. The structure of the holes is characterized by a matrix that is repeated throughout the extension of the silicone layer and consists of a central hole with a diameter of 5 mm surrounded by 6 holes with a diameter of 3 mm.

2) Middle layer: hydrophilic absorbent hydrocellular structure made of polyurethane foam. It allows a high "vertical" absorption of exudate, without release under pressure. It also allows excellent management of the humid environment and eliminates the risks of maceration of the edges of the lesion.

3) Outer layer: polyurethane film impermeable to liquids and bacteria and gas permeable. This allows the transpiration of the fabrics, maintaining the right humid environment, allowing excess liquids to evaporate.

How to use:
1) Clean the wound with a suitable solution (e.g., Prontosan) following normal procedures
2) Dry the skin around the wound
3) Place the dressing making sure that 2 to 3 cm of dressing remains beyond the wound margins
4) Remove one of the protection sheets and apply the adhesive side to the lesion
5) Adhere the dressing to the wound by removing the other protective sheet as shown in the diagram below
