Levenhuk Discovery Pico is a monocular biological microscope with achromatic optics designed especially for beginner users. It is particularly suitable for the study of the microcosm at school and university, as well as for an initial introduction to microbiology. It is a robust and easy-to-use microscope, which reproduces a sharp and detailed image and is sold accompanied by the educational book 'Invisible World'.
The microscope is equipped with a monocular head. The head can be rotated 360° around the vertical axis, thus making observation more comfortable. In addition, the head can be tilted at 30°. The inclination serves to make prolonged study more comfortable. The optical system includes achromatic objectives with 4x, 10x and 40x magnification and a 10x wide-field eyepiece. The 40x objective lens is equipped with a retractable spring mechanism that protects the front lens. The magnification range of this microscope is from 40x to 400x. The optics are made of glass.
Dual- LED illumination allows you to study samples of any degree of transparency: opaque, semi-transparent, and transparent. The brightness of the lighting is adjustable. You can use standard batteries (included) or the mains power supply (AC adapter included) to power the backlight.
The slides are fixed to the table using clothespins. There is a disc diaphragm to adjust the light beam coming from the lower LED , below the stage. The microscope is equipped with macro and micrometer focusing, so you can adjust the sharpness more quickly and conveniently. The body of the microscope is made of metal.
The kit includes the educational book 'Invisible World' on the wonders of the microcosm. It tells about the small creatures that can be studied under a microscope, the structure of this optical instrument and the scientific experiments that can be carried out directly at home. The book is written in simple language, minimizing the use of complex scientific terms, and contains vibrant illustrations.
