The IntelliSense Lithium Battery for the Cardiac Science G5 is inserted into the back of the defibrillator. When you hear a distinct click, it is inserted correctly, after which self-diagnosis starts and the Rescue Ready status indicator turns green.

Where you can see the remaining charge or status of your Cardiac Science G5 battery:
The Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 defibrillator has a status indicator to display the remaining battery charge, 5 bars total. As long as the green light remains on, the battery still has enough charge for possible resuscitation. When the light turns red, the remaining capacity is too low and the battery needs to be changed. Up to 250 shocks can be given.

Battery life depends on the settings of the AED, but also on how you use it and the environmental conditions. If the environmental conditions are not optimal or you have used the defibrillator several times, it may be that the battery lasts less than approx. 4 years indicated.
