Basic criteria of the structure
- Elastomeric membranes act as an elastic exoskeleton to attenuate impact forces by stretching the extensible components. They ensure proprioceptive contact throughout the entire range of motion. Once the original length is regained, the accumulated kinetic energy is retransmitted to the knee to support the quadriceps.
- The medial and lateral parapatellar membranes control the movement of the patella
- Horizontal membranes cross the patellar and quadriceps tendons
- The diagonal membranes reproduce the lines of force of the quadriceps
- Vertical membranes ensure most of the kinetic energy restitution

The mesh structure allows energy dispersion and shock absorption to achieve gradual pain relief.
- The elastomeric mesh structure helps reduce pain by dissipating energy throughout the knee
- Flexible membranes stretch with joint movement and return to their original size, absorbing shock and shifting greater loads away from the painful area
